1) You’re there because everybody else perceived you to be as awesome as everybody else
2) It gets better with time
That’s how I dealt with mine (almost crippling with the occasional anxiety attack) until I made what I considered to be a significant mistake and to everybody else it was minor. Nobody is perfect and all we can do is our best. We work with the best and do our best and when mistakes get made we pick it up and keep moving. That’s what makes us professionals.

Do you watch sports? EVERYONE on the team has a role. Some players have more talent, others have more hustle.

Interesting aspect to consider:
Do you think the team with all your firm’s top experts/achievers on a topic is the team that performs best for the client?
Some tactical steps that may help:
1) Become a master at inputs. Organize and take control over the information stream that’s coming *into* the workstream. So, who did you meet with, when, what information did you collect from where, what was the basis used in making a specific recommendation/decision, etc. Sooner or later your team will be challenged by the client - “where did you hear that”, “what data was used to come up with this recommendation, etc”, and you will see a blank look of befuddlement/horror cross the face of more senior members because they just won’t remember - but you will. At that moment, you will confidently speak up and provide just the facts in an even tone and afterwards bask in the well-deserved gratitude from your senior leads for making everyone look good.
2) Take 15 mins during every day or two to summarize and share your perceptions of client interactions with your team lead. What did you observe? What do you think your client is worried/anxious/concerned about? What is your lead worried/anxious/concerned about? What are your instincts telling you about what the team should be doing next? Get in the habit of thinking about how to run the work yourself / read the client yourself / and then validate that thinking with your more experienced seniors. At the beginning you won’t get most of it right. That’s OK - but use those conversations to calibrate your consulting instincts, as well as a guide for areas where you need to build your domain expertise
In sports I most like the guys who are working their asseit off just to retain their spot on the roster.
