How do you deal with inexperienced attorneys misguiding you or telling you to do things that are not correct? I’m helping out the Florida office (I’m in Ga) and I’m less familiar with their rules. I really want her to go ask someone what the correct steps are.

I know we are busy, I know this is my job, but dang, it is a lot more pleasant to work for the midlevels and seniors who say please and thank you and show a tiny amount of respect and appreciation.

I actively avoid working for midlevels and seniors who just bark at me, never ask, and never say thank you because it just shows they don’t care about being a half decent human.

Need advice & perspectives: I got a verbal review from my manager saying he couldn’t see me as senior cuz I didn’t follow the design doc format he mandates from all designers. While I have been the only designer who does almost everything from design, UI asset creation, wiring up UI in Unity (I am in mobile gaming).
Also the product I’m on has been in MVP stage, things move extremely fast and design decisions changed constantly. He’s not on my team.
Am I crazy for thinking him a bad manager?

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.

Lately I’ve seen a lot of “Pride” jockstraps on sale because I suppose the Pride season is over — rainbow jockstraps etc. I was thinking tonight when I was at the gym that I might be the only gay who wears jockstraps for their intended purpose. I’m sure this topic has been done to death, but I’m curious to know what billable hour requirements other paralegals have and if you met them for the year. At my firm our requirements are 1100-1300 hours a year, but as of 12/1, I was at 1750.

The insurance company I work for outsourced a huge majority of my work to a third party, ontellus 🤮. I am not longer able to bill for NPNP, SDT and CNOS. I received 5 separate NPNPs from ontellus that either had the incorrect case style, signature block or date. Any CA paralegals who took the CAPA CCP exam? If so, would you recommend?

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

Of the many binders you have made in your career, what percentage of those binders do you think were actually used? I do a lot of trial prep and I'd say most of the binders I prepare don't even get opened up, even it's just to see if there are actually printed papers in there.

Any paralegals who work/have worked as an immigration paralegal and are willing to share their experience? I’m considering switching from contract-based law to immigration but I’ve heard immigration can be emotionally draining. I like that the workload at my current firm isn’t stressful but I don’t feel like I’m helping people (just businesses).
