Hi Guys, wats up in Volvo. I am recent joiner to volvo,my manager is insisting I come to office 2 days a week and relocate to base location, he is insisting this is HR policy. Though I asked him I can work 8 days from office in a month together & rest from my home, but he is not accepting. Any advises how to mitigate this issue. Volvo

Set internal SLAs and process. Minimum turnaround times for different groups of work, brief forms, and process for booking in jobs. They’ll either tow the line or get put off by the process.
I should add that it really sucks to be on the receiving end of that. I’ve definitely been there. It can be really draining on team morale. It’s definitely a balancing act. When it’s internal, politics and personalities become involved. But morale is important, too. Especially these days.
I've worked at the German stock market and that was a huge problem. If is not clarified from the top they will continue to overstress your team.
Maybe you need a filter between the requests and the design team (a designed person from each team for example assistant of the head of marketing etc).
I set up an Asana account with a form to fulfill for our internal customers. I trained each coworker who has needs for the creative team to use it. And now even if sometimes it still feels as they can request anything at least they fill the form that requires all information we need to work on them. Only if there is a clear policy set by a CMO will people outside your team respect the process. And also if you protect your team by allowing them to refuse requests coming from any other way than Asana.
I have! It was hell. The MD was an uneducated, daddy's child... If you didn't do his cool plans, you would find yourself on the outside of the creative bonding moments. I left.
