The only thing you can really do is let those above the SM know during your exit interview and let HR know. The more complaints the more likely there will be an investigation into the individual’s behaviors.
Before quitting I’d tell the partner and if nothing changed just start telling the SM what’s up. I’d rather go out fighting for myself than just leave quietly
I left the firm two weeks ago and joined a consulting firm. Life is like being lifted from hell to heaven. I am learning new things, people are smart and welcoming, and the office interior is modern and comfortable. We all have standing desks belong to us.
Flashback for update since people are following: after I gave the two week notice, the ethic hotline made me waited for half a year all of a sudden closed my case concluding my “allegation” unsubstantiated, and the firm appreciate my “raising my hand in good faith”. It is a bunch of BS but fine with me now. I can move on.
I really think this kind of audacious abuse from senior management is not addressed at all. We probably should have a Bowl talking about this.
Following, I have the same issue.
The SM has a reputation within the BU and is an HR Teflon. Did what I supposed to do like others, only made enemies of senior management who have been protecting her all these years since she was a “high performer”. I ended up getting a low performer review from her buddy MD on the same engagement receiving a bonus award. Filed ethic hotline for retaliation and the investigation lasted for half a year while they’ve decided not to promote me. I can’t afford wasting my time here anymore.
