If cramps are that bad for you I really recommend talking to your gyno. That’s pretty extreme and you don’t have to accept that level of suffering. There may be options for you that you haven’t considered, especially on the birth control side (if you’re open to that)
I’m sure you’ve tried all the basics— for me heat pads and midol have always done the trick. I’m so sorry it’s been so rough!!
If you have very bad cramps there's probably something else besides menstruation that's causing them. I have polycystic ovary and birth control did the trick at reducing cramps and other side effects. Talk to a gyno as they can guide you to find the root and a solution
Please share any tips/tricks/recommendations that have worked for you (2/2)
I have pretty bad cramps as well, did birth control and worked for the cramps but I turned into a multiple personalities nightmare, it was like Polyana in the morning, Chucky by the afternoon and you never know who would came out the next day.
Now I just have to live with it, the pain killers help, and I find that a high dose of midol also does the trick during work hours, keeping busy also ... Although some times I just can’t and have to WFH, most months I just try to come to work, I find myself hat keeping active contributes to feeling better
Similar for me. Advil, hot tea, essential oils for relaxation and pain, try to eat better breakfast and lunch and not overdo it on sweets, walking a bit, and letting myself get off my feet and lay on the couch at the end of the day.
I used to have the same problem and the only remedy for me was going on the pill. I would get cold sweats and turn white as a ghost! I don’t think any man can truly understand intense period symptoms, but your coworkers should trust you when you say you have a medical issue.
