Does anyone else get really anxious emailing about time off?

Saying no to extra work, taking planned vacations,
maintaining a good work life balance, leaving the office on
time, taking time off if you're not well...
..does not mean you are not a hard worker.
It just means you have a life beyond work as well. And that is
completely okay.
It took me a while to realize this.
Do not make the same mistake.

I'm currently in the process of looking for new work. I've scaled it to be around 6-8 months before I can leave. I have so many projects on me and never enough coverage to even take a weeks pto. I feel immense guilt if I put in two weeks and call it quits. Yet I have people booking me months in advance for work, without consideration if I'm doing okay. My pto is always maxed out and I'm burned out. I love the work that I do just not my company's treatment of its employees.

Do you get a holiday bonus? If so, how much are you expecting?

How much PTO do you typically take in a year? I've only been taking about 1.5-2 weeks and I'm starting to feel burnt out, but it doesn't seem like anyone on my team takes more!

Yesterday (Thanksgiving) my husband accused me of being a workaholic because I opted to spend 10 minutes doing some necessary work before the festivities. He said, "Its a holiday! Spend it with us!" He was wearing noise cancelling headphones, watching a football game on his phone as he said this. My 5 yr old was watching Bluey reruns on the TV and my 7 year old was killing bad guys on a computer game. I was bored! No one was talking to me! I enjoy my job. Does that make me a workaholic!?

I was laid off in May and been on the job hunt for 4 months. Finally received a offer. Then a week later another offer. I was working remotely for the past year & I’m struggling w/ the idea of being onsite. Neither job is on my desired career path, my goal is people operations/HR operations.
Offer 1: Payroll Admin, on-site. 72k, 216 hrs PTO
Offer 2: HR Payroll Admin, Remote. 62.5K + 6k sign on bonus, 70k after 6 months, 144 hrs PTO

Supervisor said I couldn’t have week off for vacation this summer bc another coworker of higher seniority asked off the same week and two people can’t go on vacation at the same time because of staffing. But this coworker that asked off works different shift than me? He works 1st shift I work second. We have a total of 8 workers and no more than 4 work a day. can easily be covered. This has never been a problem until this year (we got a new supervisor). we’re used to being short staffed anyway

How does your firm treat COVID leave? My firm is giving me credit for time off but I was out for nearly 10 days. (the worst version of covid I have ever experienced). I feel uneasy about my November hours as having covid in the middle of the month and the holiday really threw off my productivity and workload. I know it will likely all be fine but need some words of wisdom.
