How do you ensure that your patients always have non-expired Epi-pens? The cost can be so high!

Every time I see an EpiPen on the medication list, I review with them the expiration date and offer a new script.

Realistically, I'm sure it would be fine a few months past the date.

Sabbaticals. Anyone know of people who successfully took 3-6 months off to relax/travel/spend time with family and still land in-house? I am worried that this means you have a gap in your resume and companies will assume you were let go but I haven’t had a summer vacation in nearly a decade...

Edit - I know it is a pandemic and I wouldn’t be traveling. Even resting at home, exercising and Idk maybe baking sourdough sounds exciting to me.

Since covid started I’ve been working with a team of doctors and scientists to develop a self contained rapid antigen test. Hi All,

at 6th week and am 31 years old. I live in Canada. When I was asking about NIPT test, My doctor said I do not really have to get it done because of my age. But she said, if I want to get it done I can prefer to do.
Am not very clear if everyone should prefer to get NIPT done. My mom’s eldest brother’s son has some issues like low IQ and learning capacity. Should I opt for NIPT? Any possibility to get false positive on NIPT and end up doing further tests like aminocentesis?

First off, let me say that I’m not American, pretend to be or understand being American. I’d like to know why is healthcare such a big deal? I understand it is important but why is it a big of a deal as it is? It’s ranked above so many other things in terms of importance. I ask because until I started working, I’ve never ever had any form of insurance and although unideal, never really struck me as such a big deal. Are Americans really going to doctors, hospitals and buying medication that much?

Can someone tell me more about Infection Control Nursing? How hard is it to get your first job? Do you have to have the apic certification before first job? From my understanding, you just walk around to the hospital units, get the rates of each disease and report them to the dir., like a consultant, m-f, and I need 2 years of infection control nurse experience to start studying for CIC, then I could become an Infection Preventionist. Is this correct? Thanks!
