How do you estimate on how long it will take you to create a Tableau dashboard? I started a new project and I am not sure to be honest since the dashboard is more complex than what I did before. I know I can do it but not sure how long it will take.

You want to break it down as much as possible into individually achievable tasks How many data sources / data objects are you integrating? How many transformations / calculations will you have to define? How many views will you create? How many dashboards will you create? How many filters/actions will you create? Do you need to create custom templates or color palettes? Etc. For each of those tasks assign a t shirt size for complexity based on your experience. Don't forget to include time for technical and functional testing, user workshops, data validation, dependencies on other teams.

The only build I’d have is around complexity of views and calcs. is it mostly slice and dice or do you need LODs, table calcs, etc

Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?

Last step of an interview process, I’ve received a case study where a new player enters the market with a cheaper and better proposition. Not dramatic movement of the market has been detected, but customers are asking for similar offers and the market seems to loose its “dynamics”. The client is asking my firm to develop a strategy to fend its clients data base and revenue stream from the new player. - 1h presentation, any suggestions on how to structure the problem?

All week my senior manager has used me as his verbal punching bag. It’s been a stressful week with the client and I know he is taking his frustrations out on me. I’ve broken down multiple times everyday (granted I’m on my period and a bit emotional). I’ve never experienced this before and I’m not sure how to handle it. I just can’t take another week of this behavior. Has anyone had a similar experience? How did you handle the situation?

Other managers- how many clients are you on right now? Are you doing everything from senior consultant tasks (execution, documenting materials, leading meetings) to manager tasks (review, rework, billing, budgeting, client decks) across all of them?
