Went to get blood work for pregnancy and doctor’s office sent blood to out-of-network lab so now lab is charging me $300 where it would’ve cost nothing if in-network lab. How can I fight this? :(
I'm a Consultant with 4+ years of experience and interviewing with Indeed for Sr. Product Strategy role in Bay Area. What kind of compensation should I negotiate? Can you/your friends at Indeed suggest some numbers for the base, sign-on bonus, and RSUs?
Two teenagers. Both starting (remote) school in the morning.
As is typical for interactions with teens, I feel like speaking with them about their upcoming school year is as enjoyable as running head-first into a brick wall.
Have a confession and praying for strength. My wife and I lost two kids before we had our two kids. I’m grateful for them but still feel the pain of losing the first two. Not sure if it’s ptsd.
On men’s dress shoes: Being in the internal services side, a $500+ shoe sounds crazy, but all of my “value” shoes are disintegrating. Do the expensive ones last long enough to make them “worth it”?
If I am 50 hours short on billable and 50 hours over on business development, over the whole year, and we were told these minimums were required, am I in trouble?
Which recruiters would you recommend reaching out to for moving from a finance at an IB to consultancy firm?
We are like blue collar workers but instead of our arms and legs they use our brain and fingers to complete repetitive, boring tasks while exploiting the crap out of us. At least blue collar workers have WLB. Thinking about leaving BL for good. How much money do I really need?
Best career option in tech for generalists?
I’ve been working for almost three years as a “data scientist” at a start up but basically been doing everything from gathering requirements from clients, doing UI/UX design, coding the front-end (angular), building and shipping ML models in sagemaker, and managing AWS infrastructure.
I’m planning to change jobs to find a role with clearer responsibilities. What role in tech suits someone who knows a bit of everything but is a master of none?
How much do you pay for benefits? I am thinking about moving districts but I am not sure what the hidden fees are for their benefits. Wish it was more transparent, I feel like other districts get paid way more but I was wondering if they syphon your money away with health insurance, dental etc.

I just started investing about a month ago. I wish I was over $100k+ like most of you who post on here but I was paying off my student loans and helping out my parents with their mortgage. I mostly have Tesla shares and I’m confident it will make me a lot of money in the next 5-10 years. Just posting to show others that it’s ok to not have $100k+ in investments.

Advice please! I have $200k in a savings account (on top of 6 mos. emergency $) and plan to retire in 10 yrs. I'm VERY risk averse and would stash it in a CD but rates are so low. What to do? I don't want to risk losing $ but feel I am in a way by not doing anything with it...

Out of curiosity what age were you and what was your total compensation when you first was able to max (IRS limit of $20,500) your 401k? Not just max your match, but match the $20,500.
Does anyone here work at UiPath? How does the equity part work for new hires ? Would it be options still even at 35b valuation or could I do RSU convert after ipo or listing ?
I owe $40k taxes. Option 1. Sell investments in my taxable account (resulting in capital gains) to pay. Option 2. a"loan" from 401k, at 5% interest, which I pay back to myself (not govt) over 5 yrs??

Not sure if this is the right place to discuss this but would appreciate any comments! I’m planning to invest in my friends restaurant but with pandemic and everything, it seems risky. Should I convince her to do it next year? Or give it a shot
