I take the client’s watch, and tell them what time it is

I take their watch and keep it so they need to keep paying me $$ to tell them what time it is in the future.

Selling those drawing you make at school for millions of dollars, except we make our drawing on a Computer instead of crayons. Also replace the juice boxes with a dangerous amount of alcohol.

I help companies make more money. Either I help them earn more by selling more stuff, or I help them save money by paying less for things.

I get paid to tell stories and do a lot of "show and tell"

The last time this was posted, someone made a great analogy to a lemonade stand. Examples of the kinds of things we do as management consultants are “how much lemonade can we make, and how would we make more lemonade?”, “how much should we charge for lemonade?”, “should we open up more lemonade stands?”, “should we offer pink lemonade?”, and “should we expand into selling cookies with our lemonade?”.

Some create slides and some build applications😋

I tell my kids that my job is the same as theirs— to ask every single question I can think of. And for the questions my clients can’t answer, my job is to help find the answers.

Best response I’ve read so far!

You don't do this to a child.

uplifting

I drink and I know things. And I tell people the things I know, for money.

Why explain to a child at all? Let them learn science, maths (or subjects of their interest)

How does knowing what a consultant is prevent a child from learning science and maths?

I get paid to talk a lot with people

When you work it out explain it to me please

As someone who never plans/wants to get married or have kids, I know I’ll never get back the money I spent on my friends’ weddings, bachelor parties, kids birthdays etc. I know that and I was fine with it because they’re my friends. But last weekend, I didn’t bring a gift to my friend’s kid’s 8th birthday party. Not cause I didn’t want to, but just ran out of time and honestly I don’t know what 8year olds are in to and I’ll just give the parents a gift cards later (cont)

Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?

Our nanny takes my 7 month old out for one, sometimes 2, long walks every day (weather permitting). Love the idea of fresh air every day but its often for several hours at a time and he always returns home crying bc she's pushed him to his limit between feedings. She brushes it off saying hes just fussy which kind of irks me. Im also concerned that he's spending too much time strapped in a stroller. Is it reasonable to ask her to take shorter walks? Am I overreacting?

Has anyone been unjustly rejected by their children due to encouragement by other parent/grandparents/other? It happens usually during separation and divorce but could happen within a marriage. In many extreme cases, the child is prevented from a relationship with a parent due to a being blocked physically and emotionally. I'm currently in a toxic marriage where spouse and MIL badmouth me (among other things) to my 5 yo son to the point where he rejects, badmouths, and even bullies me.

I feel like my kids 1st grade teacher is being too strict, but I'm not sure if this is normal or I'm being sensitive because it's my child. E.g. she gave him 2/10 for his math homework because he doodled on the page, colored in the circle that has the page number, didn't draw the word problem neatly, wrote his last name under the name line, and says some of his numbers aren't legible. All his answers were correct, except one where he forgot to fill in the blank. Is this normal? X-posting

Right before Labor Day, after 2 months of dating, my guy made us “official” and asked me to be his girlfriend. (He made a romantic event of it, arranging a picnic by the lake). Ever since then, everything’s been great. until tonight. His ex, who he says he broke up with a couple of weeks before we met, called and says she could be pregnant (took a home pregnancy test and is going to the doctor ASAP). I’m full of all sorts of questions and feelings I’m not sure I have a right to. Advice?
