Hello Sharks, Need a suggestion. Had a verbal communication on profile and salary post selection (12th August) still haven’t received the offer letter. Getting updates that they are waiting for global team approval which is stuck due market conditions i believe. My LwD is arriving should I take Whatever offer i have which is comparatively less or ask company to retain as MS are not certain with when they can roll the offer out. Microsoft

PWC- Came here to say this
I don’t. It all get fixed eventually. If you are as good as you think you are (at all aspects of the job) then it will be recognized and you’ll be promoted faster. If they are as bad as you think they are (knowing that you don’t get to see all they do) then eventually they will slow it be let go. I focus on what I can control - my life, my work, my relationships.
BCG1, Mck1 said "all aspects of the job". Softsills are part of the job. If you truly think you are good (including softskills), you will come out ahead in the long run.
That’s a golden opportunity for you to shine. Sure, you’d have to work harder and pick a bit for the weaker team member but it’s better than trying to stand out working with 5 high performing Cs who are working 60 a week. - former clueless SC who got paid more but had same level of responsibilities as a C. I eventually redeemed myself by replacing and exceeding the work of an SM when I was an SC during my “on deck for promo” year. That helped my promotion story. On a related note I do admire how much the new hires out of UG at Deloitte have their shit together for their age.
Such a good point, I hadn’t thought of this perspective. Thanks for sharing!!
Rank has its privileges
There’s a lot of bs that managers and up have to deal with that you aren’t privy to. Leadership could be bad, but bad performers tend to have a hard time climbing the corporate ladder. I’d be more likely to chalk it up to them being distracted with the hundreds of other things they have to deal with.
That “BS” is their job. They’re compensated to deal with that BS. Having a hundred other things to do doesn’t excuse anything slipping through the cracks. They’re welcome to step down if they can’t hack it.
