I’m sick of living in NYC but can’t go anywhere.
Has anyone with an ADA disability put in any notice to their company? I have one and my doctor is concerned I’m being pushed to the limit with the amount of work I have. Been working 70-80hr weeks if
Has anyone taken disability leave, and then used it to look for jobs? How does this work legally?
Can you switch firms while on short term disability? Can you resign right after the disability leave and join other firm?
How do sick days work? Just realized that 1/3 of my “PTO” is actually sick days (and it’s not generous and you don’t get paid out when you leave). I’m very lucky to not get sick but does that mean in order to use some I’ll have to spontaneously say I’m ill with little advanced notice? Seems like a policy which rewards people for leaving their team in a lurch.
First year living in NYC...only managed to save $10k (have high medical expenses). Anyone else in the same boat? Feeling pretty down on myself reading about some of my peers on here squirreling away 3x that much
I will never get sick of listening to teams explaining pop culture to clients who don’t pay attention to pop culture. “Ok well the Jonas Brothers are a band, but also brothers..."
Any rules of thumb for sick teammates on an engagement? Member of team showed up sick and from being in the same room as them our entire group is now under the weather.
Anyone at the PCAOB? How are the benefits? 401k, any pension, medical premiums and provider (BCBS/UHC)? Did you find their compensation package to be competitive?
About had it with my teams VP, didn't come to work and called in sorta sick today, didn't check email once. $20 says I actually still have a job....?
It makes me sick as a man when I see people with power, authority bully and harass others. It's time to stand up and fight these abusers.
Got through the week even though I was sick AF. Shout out to all the folks who are still going strong after 5+ years, it'll be a miracle if I make it that far 💀😥
I've been with my current firm for only 10 months, was with a big firm (think EY/IBM/Accenture) for 2 years prior. I'm sick of the travel, is it too soon to try to leave? Want out of consulting (cont)
I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.
What's your firm's sick leave policy?
Recommend me a firm mattress. I’m sick of sinking in and waking up with back pain. Trying to stay under $1500.
I met up with a couple of my closest friends and all they talked about was wanting to date and find a boyfriend, which there is nothing wrong with but they see me as the strange one becos I'm not interested. I'm so sick of hearing "but don't you want somebody that will do XYZ for you" 🥴 I just wanted to vent ☹
Situation : A sped student has an accomodation in their IEP to ride the SPED bus. However, the student and his brother have been refusing to get on the bus and get violent towards anybody trying to put them on the bus. They hit kick and spit on the driver and the assistant when getting strapped into the bus. According to the student handbook they should be suspended because of their actions. Question: should the students be suspended or does their legal accomodation supercede district policy.
I have minor generalized anxiety. Lately, I’ve had worse anxiety than normal, and as a result, I’m taking my second mental health day in a row. I didn’t tell my firm that it was a mental health day, I just told them I was sick with non-COVID symptoms. None of the partners I work for objected or said anything negative, but I’m now getting worried that they’re somehow going to find out it was just a mental health day instead of physical illness, and that it will somehow bite me in the ass . . .
What are my best options for scoring small side gigs before end of year? I deduct lots of business expenses for doing some freelance work, but we had a baby so I didn’t earn any 1099s this year.
Thoughts on applying to roles at FAANG that your qualified for but don’t see yourself doing long term just to get your foot in the door, then trying to pivot—anyone have experience doing this?
28 weeks and really struggling with insomnia and super crazy fatigue - makes most days very difficult. Have a pretty good schedule (but unique role with no one to delegate to) and the fatigue is making it still so difficult to get through the day. How did y’all handle the third trimester? Going out at 36 weeks - did any of y’all go out earlier due to fatigue, etc? Or just ride it out?
I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.
Partners - a candidate has made it to the final round with you. What do you notice and what sets apart a great candidate? More of a poll than a “here’s how to ace an interview."
Show of hands; who has been laid off because your agency lost a big client? Also, when you interviewed for your next job did you feel comfortable saying that? And do other agencies understand?
Hi Everyone, I am looking for an opportunity in HR in Delhi, India. I have 7 years of experience in HR Operations and Recruitment. Can anyone help me on this.
How much does an older car matter for professional development/optics? I drive a 2005 Rav4 which I like. For context, I'm a third year so could easily afford something better, but not sure if it matters.
I am a Senior Consultant on an engagement for a client I would like to work for. The client is back office and the job is front office. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Anyone familiar with Simon Kutcher - in deciding which office to apply for, are the projects region specific/any emphasis towards a particular industry across the offices? What about the size and office culture?
Anyone sign a prenup? Pros vs Cons experienced and was it worth it. Wife to be makes 1/2 salary as me but is 3 years younger and a hard worker.
When it comes to recruiting, is it good for the industry when the first word out of HR is "diversity" and not "talent?"
Started golf lessons recently and looking for some cute clothes to keep me motivated. Any recommendations? I’m 26F and 5’3”
