Fishbowl app on your mobile
My daughter uses TikTok for cosplay. She has 25k followers. She would be impacted. Thousands of our students would be affected. Sure, they could find something else, but what would you do if your favorite social media app suddenly disappeared? I don’t think you would easily shrug that one off. You might be more outraged than your post sounds about TikTok.
If my favorite social media app disappeared, I would find a new hobby that didn’t involve staring at my phone for hours.
I agreed with the Chief. Parents need to be more vigilant with supervising their children’s use of social media.
TicTok is fun. I made a lot of videos and they connect with people who are suffering through this pandemic. They greatly appreciate it!
Look up TikTok and sexual predators - then you'll know why it should be banned.
The very few entertaining Tik Toks I’ve seen do not make up for the majority of posts which are people craving attention. It’s also embarrassing to see adults posting Tik Tok videos.
So y’all are griping about giving up fun but could careless about your personal info being stolen? 😂😂😂
Chief
I’ve known the security and child safety issues for over a year and for that reason I have never used it and discouraged others from using it. I don’t know about banning it as a country, but I think parents need to be more aware of what exactly their children are using and doing with their technology. If parents knew the concerns with the app, many wouldn’t have let their kids get it in the first place. And I think plenty of people use it responsibly, so I think it’s really about internet safety.
Oh - I thought the post was about schools banning it. As a country - there would have to be some pretty clear national security risk for that to be okay.
