The coast part is to get away from that. I deal with angry clients and would prefer not to. If you like that part of your job, then keep at it.
I was thinking more like Regional Manager at Dunder Mifflin. No offense, but I don't want a bank teller kind of role, if think it will drive me nuts in a couple of months.
My ideal Coast Fire job is one without unrealistic deadlines, long and unpredictable hours, emergency meetings, customers in stupidly different time zones, but still interesting enough that keeps me engaged and allow me to learn something new.
I have friends in jobs like that, not necessarily because of FIRE. Yes, they earn a lot less and career growth is limited, but they go home at 5, no need to check their work email after office hours, they don't seem stressed by work (other than insufficient income) and they have an envying work life balance.
Government doesn't sound bad to be honest. I know a couple of program managers and engineers that work for the government that have jobs similar to what I'm looking for.
Any govt jobs with pensions for copywriters?
Was under the impression coast you either find a fixed schedule job (work at a liquor store) or you do some contract type jobs as they come
