How do you go about disclosing it to your partner/team if you’re jumping ship from one b4 to another? Don’t want to burn bridges

You're leaving them to literally work for the person they bid against. Not sure there is a way to avoid burning that bridge That said, earlier and more open communication tends to have more positive results, but comes with the downside of immediately getting locked out of everything once people know you're going to a competitor

like

2 weeks notice only. As soon as you tell them you will be asked to leave since it is a direct competitor.

I think it’s a matter of communicating early. For example, I made it early on in my career that I want to do more than the small piece of the pie we sold and delivered. My SM and partner knows it but based on my previous Big 4, it was just how the practice was structured. When I got the offer for PwC, I told them the offer was for the broader practice and would allow me to get exposure to more things. They were supportive and I was not immediately walked out the door.

Want to get in early, open to any firm. I do not have an MBA, but I am client facing and work in commercial markets currently. TYIA!

Can anyone help me evaluate whether I should take an exit opportunity. Currently in big 4 (fsrm) and have the opportunity to join a f250 payments firms internal strategy division. They report directly to the c-suite and said they mainly focus on strategy or M&A and don’t do implementation. The team seems really nice but I’m just worried about leaving consulting and leaving the accelerated progression. Would love some insights as I’m fairly lost on what to decide. Thanks!

Does anyone know acceptance rates at big 4 type firms versus boutiques? Most assume big 4 are harder to get into and more prestigious than boutiques or lower level firms. I’m at a mid tier firm so I’m fairly neutral in this. I’ve worked with highly intelligent, and highly incompetent, consultants from either type of firm. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and any data you have. Sometimes I wonder why big 4 is so highly revered when work products I review are less than stellar.

Since graduating college 4.5 years ago I’ve worked at three marketing agencies averaging a year and two months at each. I took four months off earlier this year after a layoff to study data science. I’m now back in digital marketing on month six of my current job. How long should I stay at my current company? I’ve been told two years minimum which is unfortunate because if I leave in six months I’ll make a lot more money on the market.

MD or MBA? I got into both. I know most will say choose the MD, but hear me out: MD: I'd have to go into a specialty to have a good IRR given my salary & the $200K+ debt. By the time I'd be done with residency the US may be in a single payer system. US doctors make 3x the amount in France and 2x vs UK.. I currently make what a doctor makes in France. That could be the future here, too. MBA: 1 yr. Europe. I'd make about 15-20% more vs. now.

That feeling when a well meaning manager keeps ending meetings with “have a happy holiday, and enjoy some time off with your family,” and he is unaware that some of us (a) already celebrated Hanukkah (and don’t really celebrate anyway), (b) are alone and unhappy, (c) kind of have no reason to burn PTO for a non holiday when you’re alone, bored, and have nothing going on in yet another month of a terrible year. It’s like one more set of fingers on a chalk board listening to such pleasantries.

Post final interview: it has been over 8 days and the recruiter told me that they are still making decisions. Is it likely that they’ve extended an offer and waiting for the person to accept/reject and I’m the second choice?
