How do you guys deal with frequent brain fog? Ive always had it a bit on and off but lately I've felt almost lost in some work meetings because I can't retain anything. Had Covid a couple of months back and have similar issues - can't recall things, unable to focus etc. I can't tell if it's the after effects or just the pandemic wfh finally wearing me out. Haven't quite figured out what to do yet

Same here. I don't want to use COVID as an excuse because who knows, there's a lot going on that could cause it. But it definitely hasn't been this bad before and it's starting to give me anxiety that I'm going to mess something up at work or just obviously under perform.

How old are you? How’s your sleep? Stress level?

31f, sleep is decent, 7-8 hours. Exercise lightly (used be exercise intensely multiple times a week though until a few months ago) I feel stressed out but I can't really explain why, nothing abnormally stressful is happening. I feel very easily overwhelmed.

You’re probably just depressed. How are you feeling mentally?

Have you thought about receiving counseling or medication?

I was on Wellbutrin for about a year but it ended up causes more issues for me and I got off of it. Besides the side effects it didn't help brain fog or anything. I talk to a therapist every 2 weeks but couldn't get on her schedule for the last month.

Stress, poor nutrition, low/no exercise, & lack of sleep are all pretty obvious culprits, and these can lead to or worsen anxiety/depression. With the limited background info, I can’t say for sure, but you might want to research ADHD. Just went down this rabbit hole myself due to lack of focus, terrible memory, & constant feeling of overwhelm. For me, it started before Covid when I lost all structure due to WFH, but I’m certain the pandemic has made it worse due to highlighting symptoms I was able to work around before.

The lack of structure is a good point... I like wfh because it's easy but I think my days used to feel more fulfilling when I was in the office interacting with people or having more normal eating habits. Thanks for the reply :)

Long story short, joined a tech Fortune 500 company a little over a year ago as an entry level analyst and things have gone downhill with COVID (limited growth here but got exposure). Looking to start new with a startup as I grew tired of the ethics of a larger corp.
