Has anyone received an offer letter from EXL (Inductis India Pvt Ltd) that was extremely restrictive and reading which felt like one is signing up for going to prison rather than get employment? No leave policy mentioned, hundreds of paragraphs of worst case scenarios, pathetic salary breakup, etc. ?
Wanted to share smth I found recently. I felt like it was pretty darn accurate. I’ll provide the link here but there’s a screenshot I took that I feel I can relate to quite heavily. https://pairedlife.com/love/infatuations
I’ve struggled with so many heavy infatuations before and a friend recommended this. Hope it helps anyone else out there who’s gone through this or may be going through this right now.
Dear God please give me the strength

Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

We have a shit ton of work to do- BCG is a place of immense privilege in ways you can’t imagine... and probably isn’t doing enough to make things better
People who feel the need to bring up how a spot in leadership must be earned when talking about diversity are telling on themselves.
As if no white male has ever been promoted into leadership without fully deserving it...gross.
Diversity = white women in Deloitte HC.....but that is progress. Just wish there was a “brown” partner to look up to that I’d feel comfortable really getting deep with, but I guess I’ll just have to blaze that trail and be that guy for someone in a decade or so.
Nice buzz word but the company doesn’t care
@BA3 — YES!! 👊
And let’s not forget our blindspots / unconscious biases — maybe some people just ASSUME that a POC is not deserving of a leadership role?? I know some people roll their eyes at the concept of unconscious bias, but that ish is real. Check out the famous Harvard implicit association test if you’ve never done so: https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html
Accenture is hyper-focused on white diversity. Let's be honest. It's definitely pushed down our throats at every turn. Are you a white female? YAY! Are you a gay white male? YAY! We are SO lacking in Hispanics and African Americans in leadership.
It’s also crazy that so many of you think minorities are handed leadership roles as if POC don’t have to be 3 times as good to get half as much. As if trump isn’t the president lol. The reality is, white People in consulting are handed all kinds of things they don’t earn by merit.
Lots of focus on gender diversity with little to no discussion of racial.
EY1 and others like him perpetuate the lie that only caucasians can get their jobs on merit.
Happy for it, though it is clear the company pushes minorities into roles for the sake of diversity rather than on merit. At the end of the day you reap what you sow whilst I also believe leadership should be able to do what they think is best
I would say look beyond skin color. My college roommate was asian, and I am white. We had more in common because each of our families had small businesses that we had to work in since we were 6.
My entire recruiting experience was extremely diverse and awesome. Then I got to the holiday party... and realized just how many white dudes there are at this company. (The answer: so many. So. Many.)
Diversity = white women. Very few black people in positions of Manager. Literally 2-3 black VPs and they are all women.
Side note - when you assume POC are in leadership positions because of their race, you’re participating in racism. It’s ironic because so many of the white leadership I meet are abysmally average, at best.
The big diversity complaint I kind of have is, diversity of background. Like all Ivy League and private is good, yes (hypothetically). But a good mix of GOOD state schools (mich, uva, wisc, etc) is better imo too.
I think you’ll get smart ethnically diverse people if you just expand out schools. The state schools have more diversity just because first gen college students that are smart as hell go to their state uni. Shout out to Reggie Van Lee, he’s a legend in the Consulting game that I’m sure young black dudes looked up to
I get the whole diversity initiative, but we must not forget that a spot must be earned with intellect and hard work. A black or Indian partner for the sake of just being a person of color is ridiculous. This is capitalism after all - competitive advantage and revenue first.
Deloitte is extremely diverse. Both at the leadership and staff level. I think the firm is good on diversity
K5,
What people don’t always believe is it comes down to sponsorship (which is often lacking for women and minorities). Take 2 candidates up for promotion to manager. A gets promoted and B doesn’t. The reason given for B is that they aren’t managing anyone. Sounds totally fair and unbiased right. Well guess what, 6 months earlier both A and B were reviewed during consensus and neither were managing anyone. But when A was presented the people in the room said, let’s make sure we give this person some ppl to manage. Who is going to make that happen? A had sponsors looking out for him/her and was given the OPPORTUNITY. B was not. It’s not about promoting or hiring one person over another to achieve diversity. It’s making sure people have equal OPPORTUNITIES
I believe Diversity is an old old wooden ship.
Y’all also need to stop conflating gender and race. Having a bunch of white women in leadership is not diversity.
PwC is all white and Indian
