How do you guys manage your work/life balance on weekends? My phone is constantly buzzing and it obviously irritates my partner… but I feel like if I’m not super responsive on Saturdays, my clients will go find an agent who is. It’s getting stressful 😬

As a realtor, sometimes it feels like we're always working and never really taking time for ourselves. We either have to work on the weekends or spend time catching up on work during the week. I honestly hate it.

Wow, as a realtor I wouldn't know what to tell you... It's very hard to keep a balance in our lives because as you said, client never rest. Maybe try setting a schedule so your clients know when you're off?

Not sure what your situation looks like but I have pretty flexible hours so I choose to make myself available on the weekends and go a little easier on weekdays

Try turning off your phone or setting aside specific times to check your messages. This will help reduce stress and allow you to relax and spend time with your loved ones.

That's understandable... it's very difficult to feel like you are always on call, and yes, it is possible that clients will find an agent who will jump through hoops on their behalf. However, chances are that if you are good at what you do, clients will return to you when they find another agent doesn't offer the same quality of service. Some clients understand this. Just set firm boundaries and stick with them.

The agents in our office work a variable shift, alternating so that no one is stuck working every weekend. It's important to be available whenever clients need you though. That's what I love about working in a team, we have each other's backs.

I am on call all the time and while it isn't for everyone, it works for me. I don't always like working on weekends but if that's when I can get business, I will happily take it. One of the "joys" about working on commission I guess

Mine - It comes down to senior management (client management) who believe in this not bcz it makes sense but more of as a religious zeal and the propogate the same across their team to justify their toxic control over their team's life.
