1. What area of tech are you in? 2. What new tech skills are you working on to become more marketable?
Guns and tequila. The second strangest interview I’ve ever had. Today on Kingdom of Failure.
Need an advice. I am confused between doing masters or learn tech stack and increase experience and salary.
*My primary goal is to earn more.*
If masters I have to do in US or UK, so GRE, GMAT.
If for learning and tech experience I can learn tech stacks.
But I am confused between this.
Could you please tell or suggest what would be a better choice? Is doing masters in US or UK is a better ROI or be in India and gain exp and earn more by switching?
Currently I am a Java developer.

There are 3 supervisors altogether, 2 are salary and then the flex is hourly. Well the week I got hired the 2nd sup put his 2 weeks in so for the first 2 mnths the othe
Good Morning! I have an employee who’s been with us 6 weeks. Training process usually is about 8-12 weeks to be fully up to speed. This employee has already called off sick 4 days since start date. I have an am meeting block and came into 6 messages asking if this person would be working this weekend as planned, so I asked what the plan was from them. Immediate response was that I am abrasive and don’t make them feel valued. Keep in mind nothing medical was disclosed prior. What should I do?

What’s the best way to find a mentor? I’m struggling with finding a strong leader type that I can look up to and gain insight and knowledge from.
I have a team member who historically under performs. He’s very receptive to feedback, and there’s usually a spark in his output and contributions every time I give it- but about a month later we’re back to where we started. Team members often complain about working with him. (Doesn’t follow thru, condescending tones w/ others).
Been with us for 9 months, Earlier this year gave verbal and email feedback, now we’re on a 30 day performance review/plan.

Vent: I just passed level 3 of the CFA and all my boss said was “congrats I heard that’s a hard test” I’m so tired of the lack of support, the self interest and ego oozing out of some of the male managers. honestly it just makes me lose faith in people and corporate. Why do tenured d-bags have to always be in the way.

I’d be leaving behind my network and a great structure / system around me! Any advice from those that left after being in their company for so long and how they found it?
I was promoted to the chair of my dept. (first woman woo hoo.) Here is the issue- I can’t do it all. I’ve always done a lot of marketing. Billed the most. People still expect that from me but I can’t. So now I’m trying to figure out what I can get relief with but I’m not sure what would give me the most relief. Any tips on how to find this balance? I have files clients won’t let me give up. I’ve give up the others already and am taking on very limited new cases going forward.
I need some advice. I joined a company about 9 months ago, the project I was hired for never kicked off and I had no work to do. They hired another girl 3 months after me, she sent me jobs to apply to every day for months so she would be the only BA on the team. In the last 4 months 4 out of 8 people left our team and the director only promoting family members or close friends. My new boss gets upset when I asked to shadow a role but makes no effort to help my career. I have no idea what to do
