Does pretty much every company require you to fight for raises in order to keep up with market value or are there companies that exist who are good about paying you your worth? If so, which companies are good at this?
Posting in M&A bowl for more relevant take: Currently have 2 offers on hand, coming from a big 4 advisory. Which one would be better for longer term growth in both skill set and salary? Goal is to go to industry in corp dev or M&A integration in 3-4 years or M7 MBA, but nothing set in stone. 1. Alvarez & Marsal PEPI SA - $130K base, $10K sign on, $15K guaranteed bonus 2. Deloitte M&A Advisory SC - $115K base, $10K sign on
Travel on a Sunday is the worst...there really should be some sort of compensation for being made to do this or how about a f#%king "thank you" for giving up your Sunday for the firm...
Does anyone else get the feeling that the partners are terrified of associates jumping ship right now? Partners, is this a big concern for you at this time?
I have an offer to go in-house. Mid $300s base with 10% cash bonus. No equity. Job is 8:30-6 by all accounts. I thought it was a good offer but am now seeing people post in here about in house roles paying into the $500s and then there is my big law salary that with all the raises is currently at $400k and I am questioning whether this offer is still as good as I thought. Maybe I’m being delusional? Help!
Is 28LPA good salary for 5 years of experience?
Got an offer from EY-Parthenon for Director level 3 at $240k. The signing bonus would probably just go towards repaying my retention bonus; so it doesn’t matter. Currently at $210k as an M3 at Deloitte. Should I ask Deloitte to match or just move to EY-Parthenon? What’s the process to ask for a match - just talk to my Coach? Will I be pissing people off at Deloitte by asking for a salary match? Asking because I hope to make a case for SM in Dec/Jan.
I am a third year and I set really strict boundaries. I make it a practice to not worry about work. I’m always available when I need to be but I NEVER ask for work and I never hit billables (although I’m at a firm w guaranteed bonus). Even when I’m at 0 hours for a week straight I won’t ask for work. Does anyone else do this? FWIW I’ve gotten good reviews/like the people I work w and I think they like me.
Would love to get more people engaged on this bowl. My company just announced raises and bonuses. Interested to see what others are seeing as market standard in broking and underwriting.
Being offered a sizeable signing bonus by a competitor. Should I expect restrictions on my contract?

My discussions with HR goes like this: HR: blah blah blah.... Me: blah blah blah..... HR: what are your expectations? Me: i have 5 yrs work experience and have handled multiple roles and responsibilities, so I expect around 12-13 LPA HR: Woaah! We can't give that much hike, on current CTC 6LPA. Industry standard is 30-50% hike. Me: Sure, i will agree on that if you agree that i should switch within 1-2 years of joining because thats the industry standard as well! Awkward silence and beep..!
For folks thinking of Accenture - Please avoid them as much as possible. Just got a note from ex colleague - they are being asked to provide Vaccine status information - if you dont comply - you will be receiving a decrease of 10% performance pay. Imagine what else they will enforce its employees more.

Starting a new job in September. If the new company matches 100% of 401k up to 5%, does that mean a max of 5% of the salary I’ll make between September and December, or would it be 5% of my full salary, so that if i contribute at 20% or so, I can get 5% of the full, yearly salary in just those 4 months? Thank you!
Solange? I am so confused.
If the Braves go to the World Series is there going to be a boycott like what happened with the all star game and ask them to play elsewhere. Nothing has changed since then, so why isn't MLB making a statement now?
Anyone taken the pay day to switch between competitors (ACN, Deloitte, PwC, etc.)? If so, what kind of raise / bonus did you get? I'm a new consultant making ~$95k. Also interested in MBB figures.
