How do you handle having non-FA friends from a financial standpoint? Like I want to travel more or do things that are a little more costly than just grabbing meals/going out together

I use it as inspiration/motivation to be frugal and live below my means. For the more extravagant stuff I will plan the trip with an open invite

I do things alone, including traveling internationally. Learning to enjoy your own company is very rewarding. Plus, you can meet people on trips.

I’ve found I have less and less desire to hang out with broke people. Most all complain that they have no money or everything is too expensive. I just don’t enjoy being around that mentality.

My friends are much wealthier than me so I have the opposite problem!

Report them to senior management for being too broke

Tone things back for them (if they are good people you enjoy spending time with) and find wealthier friends to do more extravagant things with.

Life doesn't have to be either or.

I work for a huge company for 11 years and haven’t been happy for a while. I feel emotionally attached to it because of great benefits, my growth (had multiple roles) and overall culture. Leaving it feels almost like ending a marriage (nuts, right?). Have you ever felt this way about your career before? I’ve seen people leaving and regretting it and seen people leaving and telling me there’s life post XYZ company.

I’d appreciate any thoughts and reading your pov.

With inflation having gone up 8% (I believe) things have been more right here in Oregon.

I am thinking of asking my employer for a cost of living raise. The employer is a massive, high multi-million dollar travel nursing company. The tricky part is that they already pay above market, but it doesn’t feel that way living in a state that is already so expensive to live in (think high taxes, rent/mortgage inflation/high gas prices/groceries). Unfortunately it also costs a LOT to move elsewhere…

How do you sleep if you live in a small one bedroom apartment or studio with thin walls with a baby that wakes up briefly at night—ie 30-50 minutes of fairly loud babbling, calling out (not crying) before falling asleep again by herself—I end up waking up and having trouble falling asleep. I used to feed her to help her fall asleep again quickly but she’s 6 months now and I want her to sleep through the night. Any methods besides me using ear plugs? We use white noise but I can still hear her

Working moms in advertising - genuine question - what is a (relatively) low stress role in advertising or at an agency / consulting firm? I can’t do always on, high-stress jobs like account / client management anymore and maintain my mental health (I have small kids).

It’s taken a LOT of self honesty to admit this. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but for now, I need a change to be fully present in my personal life and mentally healthy. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you! 🙏

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.

So here are my questions.

How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.

When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!
