How do you handle the recruiters contacting you on LinkedIn? I'm not actively looking (waiting for promo/new title to hit in Oct), but have had a couple of interesting roles come through lately.

Pretty simple. If you are interested, tell them. If you are not interested, tell them.

I talk to all of them. I treat them like networking opportunities if nothing else. Recruiters move around a lot, and many of them are independent contractors working for lots of companies, so even if the job they contact you about isn't for you, make a good impression, and they will remember you when something you want comes up.

I tell them I am not interested in making a change, but would love to connect incase things change. Great networking opportunity.

Yup. Reply to them. Never know when you willing actually need them. Build the relationship!

Talk to the recruiter about the position, if the company and position interest you tell them you have been promoted and would consider moving only if the company has a better offer. If they want you bad, you will get a good deal. It worked for me!!

Hi all! I was thinking about changing industries. I am currently an underwriter for for-hire transportation with 7.5 YOE. Wondering what others have found to be transferable skills or if anyone has made a career change. Also curious what other career paths other underwriters have gone on (possible changing departments or line of business, etc). Any info or suggestions appreciated!!

I had a miscarriage on Tuesday, my first. I didn’t even know I was pregnant. The Dr. was just as baffled by the timing, but here I am. My head is trying to be practical, but my hormones are raging. I’m trying to just get through the week but am really struggling.
