Pretty simple. If you are interested, tell them. If you are not interested, tell them.
I talk to all of them. I treat them like networking opportunities if nothing else. Recruiters move around a lot, and many of them are independent contractors working for lots of companies, so even if the job they contact you about isn't for you, make a good impression, and they will remember you when something you want comes up.
I tell them I am not interested in making a change, but would love to connect incase things change. Great networking opportunity.
Yup. Reply to them. Never know when you willing actually need them. Build the relationship!
Talk to the recruiter about the position, if the company and position interest you tell them you have been promoted and would consider moving only if the company has a better offer. If they want you bad, you will get a good deal. It worked for me!!
