It is hard to let go of your affection for your ideas, but it’s mandatory. It’s a business transaction — the more personal you make it, the worse off you will be.
Here’s the thing. Even when you lose, you’re still getting something out of it. Not just money. But the ability to think better and better, to improve your craft, to be great. Your ideas are YOURS and even if they aren’t bought, you created them. Once you realize that, no negative feedback can touch you.
Easy, that’s what we’re paid to do.
"A good idea can come from anywhere” is absolutely true, but what makes you a /creative/ is being able to deliver great ideas every time, on every brief, on command.
