McKinsey & Company Does working at a McKinsey subsidiary or specialist practice open doors similar to working in generalist consulting there? Examples include Orpheus, Finalta, QuantumBlack and other acquired companies. Can you work there for 1-2 years and benefit from a halo effect that helps you enter industry more easily? EY, I got my Roth IRA contributions set to max (30%). Does Fidelity automatically lower the % and stop contributions afterwards once I reach my 2022 limit?
Also at Deloitte, I had a couple thousand contributed in the beginning of the year. Does EY's 401k keep track of that as well towards the limit?

Split the team into groups based on their political affiliation. Then pit them against each other, measuring who produces the most story points with the fewest defects. The team who wins gets an extra 11,000 votes in Georgia in 2024.
Spoken like a true Strategy Director!
I think you have to acknowledge the world around you and show empathy for people on your team, especially if they are vulnerable. This would be extremely challenging for a Republican or someone afraid of being “cancelled.” Are you a bit Trumpy? Specific examples would help to understand.
I myself am probably as liberal as they come @EY 1. I’ve taken pictures with all of the Clintons LOL. But no one would know that. I react the same way no matter which side is being political and I’ve never shared my views. Although I support abortion rights, I’ve deleted memes supporting abortion in Slack. I’ve also coached people about using politically charged language towards their coworkers like “triggered”, “cope”, and “snowflake”.
My worst nightmare is that I’m gonna end up having to explain what preventative actions I took when there’s an HR case against someone on one of my teams about hostile work environment if I don’t get these folks to knock it off.
It’s actually hilarious to me how far off you are. You’re assuming far too much about who I know, what I’ve experienced, and how I came into my own views. Just because I’m recognizing a mostly left-leaning group of peers present day doesn’t mean it’s where I started out in life. I can’t necessarily shape what is around me, but I can make observations about it. You’re entitled to it and I don’t have the time to set it straight. Good night.
If you ban it in the main channels, it’s just going to start in channels without you and then you won’t have visibility.
Likely the channel without you will evolve to have hairier discussions without the project manager.
Make a slack channel for people that want to talk about politics. They can opt in. Then anytime someone posts a political meme in the wrong channel send it to the political channel and delete it from the main channel.
Only works if you have an impartial moderator to keep it civil or a very strong voice for both sides that moderates their “team” to keep it civil.
Where do you find an impartial moderator? Honestly, think this idea works in theory, but would fail miserably in practice. It used to be that in polite company you didn’t speak on politics or religion. The problem is now with social media, especially with digital natives, it’s all out in the open anyway. So, no nuance - especially in today’s politically charged environment. So many people are spoon fed information that they are incapable of independent thought. They believe whatever they hear on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, whatever their channel their channel of choice. Couple that with most people only following people/outlets that have the same outlook and it creates echo chambers that amplify.
It's difficult. I don't know what the answer is.
Most people have no faith/religion, few have children in our younger-skewing white collar industries, they have fewer attachments in general (apartments vs. home ownership, "relationships" vs. marriages, etc.).
They attach themselves to politics and "causes" to fill that void.
Solid retort, what other clichés you have in your “arsenal”? Maybe let the adults in the room handle this one…

“The next person to talk about politics is getting rolled off”… hmm looking at all the angles and I’m pretty sure we can’t say that either 😬
Suddenly everyone would start talking about politics even more, hoping for that early roll-off to get away from you 🤣
