I’m a resident hoteler. I leave no footprints in the sand.
*desktop folders
I am pretty OCD about it. So, I keep my desk super organized. Clean up after each assignment, otherwise I don’t focus as well
If you are organizing your desk (or considering how to organize your desk) you aren’t doing productive work.
Physical desk? Nothing on it. Desktop folder? Hide desktop icons, use it as an amalgamation of temp files and PY files I have to save and rename to open
EY1, we are hoteling in our offices, so there is no “my desk” - the question is about those messy descriptions folders I see on people’s screens. Is that a non-productive work as well?
It depends on what works for you. I use bins to keep things on top of my desk organized. My desk drawers are a different story. Those shits get clutter quick. (Well all except my snacks drawer.)
As far as desktop. I do the same thing. I create folders and move things in and out of then.
A majority of the files on the desktop are a one time use. Create a temporary folder for all those files that you can go into every month and delete items older than a month
