If you think you have ADHD, I see a palm tree. I like taco bell.
If you have ADHD, you have had it your entire life.
There's an adult ADHD self assessment test. While you may have had it your whole life, there are plenty of reasons you may not have picked up on it earlier, and it definitely gets worse with age
If you search for the test on Google, it's the same one the psychiatrist gives

Imposing structure and routines have helped the most. I've also come to learn the type of work I am best at doing during different times of the day. I try to plan strategy focused tasks early in the day and mundane at night. I also log out of email and turn off all notifications on my phone to minimize distraction. It's also helped to set a timer for 20-30 min at a time so I can stand up and step away for a minute.
I have ADD and I feel like it's gotten better with age
K1 depends on your age, I guess. I think coping mechanisms get better, but I thought the general consensus was that folks will get rapidly more forgetful and more scatter headed

Thanks for answering first part of my question 🐟🐟🐟🐟. Second part?
But I'm 25 and have gotten much more focused and organized over the years. I do have a bit of a habit of tuning out every once in awhile but not for anything important. I don't think my boss ever picked up on any signs of it. Had a good review too so I don't think it's had much of an effect in my life
I don't do meds either
Op a doc would have to diagnose you
I have ADHD but have learned how to manage without medication. It's gotten a bit easier with age. You should go see a therapist - there are assessments but your symptoms may not always translate by the book. It can also present itself differently. Primary care physical is not trained in doing these assessment. The first step is a social worker or therapist.
Just curious a4, how do you approach managing it?
Why go to primary care? To get meds? You've made it this far without support, why the desire to investigate now?
I used to handle it a lot better but I don't have much structure for work now, so maybe that's my issue... But I think coping mechanisms get better with time. I also don't use medicine often, but I have it for those days when I know I'll be really busy before hand.
I feel like I've gotten worse since graduating college, but I found out about it during my senior year, so maybe that's part of it. I'm just more aware of my inefficiencies
P1 you go to primary care to get a referral to a psychologist/psychiatrist, and you get help to find the best practices and skills that you can build to make things easier. Just having the diagnosis opens up a whole set of resources and concepts that you may not have known about
I took a test at the doc that was computer based
