How do you know if you need a vacation or a new job? I am having trouble distinguishing lately.

Take 2 weeks off and see how you feel after

This 👆🏼

I second taking a vacation and seeing how you feel. If you still feel the same, look for a new job.

Take the vacation first.

I’m in a similar boat. I did the two week vacation and it was a great mental reset. I also had a really good chat with my performance coach before I left who is in a different practice area, and she gave me some great (confidential) advice. I would find someone you trust and talk through how you are feeling. Maybe they can provide an outside perspective on things. What my performance coach did tell me was: you can’t change other people. So if it is a person you are having a problem with, see what you can do to work with that person that doesn’t drive you crazy. Because you will never be able to change who THEY are, you can only control your own actions.

Love the above comment and would also ask you about your past experience. Have you left a prior position before and when did you know it was right for you or if you haven't the last time you did take a real vacation how did you feel?

I’m just bored 😑 I need a new challenge.

Sounds like you know what you want to do but there might be something blocking you from making taking the step?! I see two potential options, how can you create something different in your current role to satisfy the desire for more or checking in to see what you want and looking for opportunities outside your company that align!

Can severance packages be negotiated? My role was eliminated in a restructuring and they’re offering six months severance. We were in the process of updating my job title to be more descriptive, which would make it much easier for me to get the next job. Do I try to see if they would update my title? (HR here is not easy to deal with.) Also, I heard that if you leave you can cash out PTO, but I don’t know if that’s true with a severance package. Appreciate an educated perspective. TIA

Any United health group remote employees here? I recently accepted an accounting job and some of the onboard makes it seem like I’m only allowed to work from my home office. I usually spend a few weeks a year out of town visiting family and work during this time so I don’t have to use PTO but I’m nervous I won’t be allowed to do that anymore

How many PTO/Vacation days do you usually take off a year if your employer offers unlimited PTO/Vacation days?

I just started a new job and this is the first time I’ve ran into this. It sounds nice but at the same time I hate the lack of direction. Help!

I’m 6 weeks + 1 with my second. I am an avid believer to wait until you are comfortable to tell family and friends and work about your pregnancies. I’m not that comfortable but I can already tell the morning sickness is kicking in with this one. I am going to be around a ton of family daily starting on Thursday because we are selling our house and moving at the end of July. We have to be out of our house for 4 days and will be visiting my family and my in laws. I have an appt on Tuesday.

I'm currently in house with great work life balance with terrible benefits (no fertility insurance coverage/no paid mat leave). I love my team but bored at work. Hiring right now for in house counsel at tech companies is crazy - I'd get double my salary plus fertility coverage, paid maternity leave and more exciting work. Downside is I know my work life balance will be gone. Planning for a kid in the next 6 months. Should I leave my job or stay?

I have been WFH ever since Covid hit. Which I love! ( I do miss the social part of it tho). But I feel ever since then, I became SUPER lazy. (Not with my work) I live in NYC. When I needed to go to the office, I would wake up at 5am, go to the gym, take the train, go to work, come home, cook, spend time with my daughter and help with HW and spend time with my husband. Do it all over the next day. Now my energy is SUPER low. Stopped working out too. Anyone here could share their WFH Routine?
