How do you know if you're tired of the project & need a holiday vs tired of consulting & need a new job?

When I asked myself that question for like 3 projects now lol.

like

Same. Consulting is a better fit for me, but I am burned out and trying out industry, soon..

For me, it got to the point where I couldn't get myself excited about it or motivated about project work anymore. Things I used to love doing completely lost their appeal. Then I went on vacation for 2 weeks and loathed the idea of returning to project work so I knew I had to make a switch

Baby steps. Take a mini-vacation from the project and reassess.

Go on vacation long enough to fully disconnect for a few days (at least 1 week, more if you can) and see how you feel after that. Give yourself time on that vacation to think about what you like/hate about the work.

I ask myself the same question! Last vacation was around Easter and I feel burnt out 😞

@M1 - Have you already made the switch?

@EY1 - yep, moved to a different role in my company. Now I focus more on sales/go to market activities and intermittently work on projects. Best decision I've made in consulting.

@ M1 - Ah, jealous that you were able to do that without leaving consulting

Think I will give it 6 months and re evaluate. I love some aspects of my job and OW feels like a family but I have been less and less enthusiastic about going to work every day recently.

I've had a junior (by level but not age) client resource that has been rude and disrespectful since the day he joined a couple weeks ago. I finally had enough today and told him off in an email and called him out for his disrespectful tone and language. My director (who was also on the email) sent me a ping saying that I wasn't out of line and that it was warranted and he'll handle any reactions stemming from that exchange. Denver Fishes - I need some serious help. I got an email from my future employer, Accenture, to get my i9 authorization done while I am here on vacation. The issue is that they need someone to be an authorizing agent, a physically present adult who can verify that I have the documents(passport card). This needs tp be done in the next two days. I don’t know too many folks here. By any chance could someone help me out with this? I can send you the info and coffee/lunch is on me.
