Great question. Let’s say you’re a Rebel and you like to create a ruckus. There is a way to do that while still being professional. In other words, I don’t see it as an either/or. You can be both. For example, being defiant and a ruckus-maker with no purpose often doesn’t yield great results. You may just ruffle feathers but make no difference in what you’re trying to actually change. It could be a culture, a boss, or even a policy that your company has you don’t agree with. In other words, you don’t have to pound the tables or throw your fists in the air to make people listen. I’ve seen many rebels within companies make real, positive change by not only being vocal about a status quo, but actually providing a plan to solve it. That can take you from a rebel to hero quite fast! What do you consider is your authentic self and where do you feel like it could cross the line? If you could give me a more clear picture of that, Id like to be able to provide a more tailored answer for you specifically.
