Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple

If you’re looking for fulfillment and meaning at work, you’re never going to find it. The happiest people I know in advertising don’t try to take meaning from it that it doesn’t provide. They bring the joy, meaning, and perspective from something outside work into the office with them. Then let the work just be the work. Ask it to be something it’s not and it’ll only disappoint you
I was happy last week. I am unhappy this week. It’s the company for sure this time.
It comes from both for me! 🙃
Anyone who tells you “it’s all a state of mind” is a charlatan and apologist for oppression. It’s your company. The bad news is that’s how most of them are. The good news is you’re normal and not alone.
If you have the vacation time, take a break and see if the unhappiness stays when you’re away from work for awhile. I did that at my last job which is why I’m not there any more. Two days in I noticed a difference and knew I needed to jump
Senior strategist - HA, you're right. Why not both?!

Sorry to sound like Barney the Dinosaur, but real happiness at work comes primarily from friendships. The best advice I can give you is to change your state of mind, in that you should make it a priority to enjoy your day, and enjoy small bits of time with your friends whenever you can. Don't eat at your desk, eat with a group and talk about anything but work. You've gotta make the office feel like home.
Well apprentice editor, I cant quite tell if you're pointing a finger at me, but i hope not. My group at RGA is anything but oppressive, and no one here would tolerate hostile behavior or working conditions. I guess there's no way to prove it to you, but I genuinely enjoy my workday, and it's mostly because of the people who keep me laughing and feeling appreciated. I'm gonna double down on my inner Barney the Dinosaur and assume you're highly stressed and in an unhealthy work environment. To that I'd say I wish you the best of luck finding something that works for you.
Autocorrect - I meant unhappiness
It’s all a state of mind.
A bit of both
