How do you know you’re a good designer? I get most of my ideas from being inspired by other work and just creating what I feel looks good. I know how to use design programs. But, I don’t know if that’s enough.

Do you achieve the goals you're tasked with in your designs? That could be an objective metric to try looking at.
If it's a confidence thing, well, welcome to the design world. We have Kleenex and cookies. 😭🍪

It’s not uncommon for young creatives to not have salesmanship.

If your work really is good then a proper CD or mentor can teach you how to explain why it’s a good idea. That’s a hell of a lot more fun for a CD vs trying to convince you it’s shit and start over.

Well designers solve problems. And if you gather metrics or the designs you did, and if the metrics reflect the original objectives, then you know that the consumers of your work think you are a good designer!

Anyone know any decent web developers that can quote for a project?

Hi all
I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Like in 5-10 years I wouldn’t want to be a specialist or a ux director. I d like to be an art director or creative director. I love branding & marketing but also product. Would love something that allows me to do both?

I also feel a bit stagnant in my job but the job security has kept me put. Would love to hear if leaving a comfortable job for more money is always worth it.
