Probably a terrible suggestion but when I cut my carb consumption by ~50% my pms practically disappeared.
I think my blood sugar/hormone levels were more out of whack than I'd ever thought.
Also crying is good! Sad playlist/film/book and get it all out 😊
Have you ever looked up the differences in tears during different emotional states? Big believer in a therapeutic cryfest

You may want to talk to a doctor about this. This sounds pretty extreme for just PMS, especially recalling past trauma and getting upset about it, that sounds like pretty serious hormonal or serotonin imbalance.

Crying like a baby due to remembering past bad experiences every single month is definitely not normal.

This happens to me every period and during my period it’s even worse. I found out it’s actually pretty normal thought for traumas to come to the forefront of your mind if you experience severe PMS. I’m going to try new birth control and hope that does the trick. Otherwise tbh I’m just super open with people about when I have my period now. People are more empathetic and less judgmental of the mood swings lol. I also set a reminder of when I am going to get my period so that I am also a little more prepared for the sudden mood change.
I struggle with this a lot, every month for at least a week I would be at my lowest and haven’t really found a cure for this yet. Previously I shared a similar post here and someone referred to the link below. Apparently some women experience more severe symptoms during pms

My shrink told me to try ginkgo for pms related mood. I never took enough to know if that worked
Soymilk/soy products helps me with other hormonal symptoms. Research it though.
I have similar experiences but also have (nearly) suicidal thoughts before my period. I become ridiculously hopeless and irritated. However, I found out a few years ago that it’s genetic and gets worse as you grow older. So I talked to my doc and was formally diagnosed with PMDD. My remedy for now is Prozac (proven to help women with PMDD) during my luteal phase and it works wonders for me. Also, I’d encourage you to get your vitamin levels checked out and speak with a psychiatrist.

This is exactly what’s happening to me. Had now idea these things could get worse with age. All of a sudden I’m 25 and getting these suicidal thoughts once a month😞I had bad side effects with anti despressants so I can’t take them anymore but second the vitamin levels. B12, vitamin D, magnesium, zinc have all helped
