How do you motivate you partner? Does the bare minimum, never pushes himself or ideas. Feels like I carry the weight.

Gotta find someone who shares goals and motivation to achieve them. Resentment will only grow. When my partner and I started out we had heart to hearts every 3-6 months. It was hard, but got us in the same page. Been together 9 and a half years now

Genuinely ask them what their goals are. If your goals don’t align, you just need to find a new partner.

I’m in the same situation OP, bare minimum, doesn’t collaborate, never yes &, shares copy at the last minute or when I’m busy so I don’t have time to actually go through it, and calls it a day after 5. I’m writing (enough to get them started), ideating w notes on the reg, designing, making comps, and assembling decks...I’m spent and frustrated. I found that some partners I’ve worked with align on wanting to make cool stuff we’re both happy with, push ideas and each other, and aren’t married to something if it doesn’t land. Other partners aren’t open to changing things or feedback, and feel defeated if nothing lands in a round. For the latter, those partners find motivation in positive feedback and encouragement, especially from seniors. Have a heart with your partner, and just talk through what’s bothering you and let them do the same. Work through that and talk about each others goals. Hopefully you both can understand one another more after that and improve. If this has been going on for a while and nothing changes after the talk, I’d ask for a new partner and/or look into another gig. Best of luck, I hope we both land in a better position soon.

You either chase greatness or you don’t. If you want to chase it and your current partner prefers to mosey along and la dee da whatevs, find a new one.

How to deal with an exploding offer? I interviewed for a company and was very excited for it. 1 recruiter interview & 1 with a couple team members. Then I got a short term offer a few days later, tried to negotiate and they came back a week later with a final offer. Rate stayed the same but was told I need to answer by next day. Honestly the process has made me so stressed. I'm interviewing with another company at the same time and their process feels warm & they take their time answering

TFW you’re on a proposal and suggest a project you worked crazy hard on as a reference, then fancy partner says “that project isn’t applicable experience here.”
