While I was on mat leave last year, we hired a contractor to be me and he’s still with us even though I’m back. I recently started approving his hours and just found out he’s getting paid $65/hr grossly, while I make $35/hr. Is this normal for contractor to make more than FTE?? I hate my job. I’m 23 and got my first salaried job in June 2021. My manager is a witch. Working here made me realize this is not the career path I want to follow. Started my own merchandise business with my own graphics and it’s not going anywhere. I have no passions, only things I like (graphic design and photography). I don’t like working under companies. Changing fields is hard with no experience. Started therapy last week because I can’t stop crying about my situation. Any advice? 😞
