[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

What works: having the room to influence the culture and creative output, learn from great creative leadership, and mentor younger creatives. Less bullshit. More accountability. Diversity. Dogs in the office. Flexible working conditions. The opportunity to create work that actually helps people, even if it's not your traditional style of advertising. Fair pay.
What doesn't: where I am currently, so a culture which encourages people to tear others down to build themselves up. A lot of sabotaging. Politics. Doing work for whatever client signs a check, even though it's not morally right. My all white, all male creative department (and leadership). Jumping on global issues to get an award for work so we can snort lines at Cannes with the rich and famous.
Have you ever experienced the former? If so, where?
AD1 - the latter is unfortunately every holding company agency. That’s why I’m done with that route...
What route are you on now? Pros/cons?
I went the boutique, independent agency route. I still feel like I gravitate toward an agency vs in-house, as I feel an in-house role would bring about a formal, corporate, hirearchal vibe most of the time. Pros of the small agency; client relationships are truly about a partnership and building something together, more opportunity to have impact on the agency and truly create something from a business standpoint, more opportunity for profit sharing and company equity. Cons - less resources, having to wear many hats, agency clout and name recognition isn’t there (yet)
