How do you pivot from DoD Prime business management (essentially internal accounting/ project financial management)? I don’t even know where to start.

Starting my counseling career on Tuesday and I’m scared to fail. What if I say something stupid and hurt my clients and make it worse? This is a second career for me so is hard to be older and a novice. I know it’s not about me and that I will truly care so I keep reminding myself of that. So here's where I'm at....I have a job that's VERY stable but a manager that well, manages poorly. The manager is there for the foreseeable future, there is no room for promotion or a possible shift change for another 2-4 years. Sure I just started a new job as a project coordinator in January .
It my first job in clinical trials technology position prior to this I was in dentistry for 32 years and it’s taking me a lot to learn all the ins and outs of data analysis and some of the tech talk.
I’m very grateful to have the position because it took me 2 years to find a job! I just wish I could perform better and know my job a little more intimately.

I have a serious question regarding this because time is running out. I quit my job last year on Nov 5. I had about two weeks of PTO accrued and I wasn’t paid out my PTO. I was recently laid off. I am an Underwriter in the mortgage industry. There are thousands of us that are unemployed right now. I am hearing that other industries won’t entertain former mortgage underwriters. I am not certain why. Insurance companies have posted jobs with the statement “no mortgage underwriters”.
