Considering getting myself a watch as a promotion gift. I really like the OPs but I would like something I can actually get. Any suggestions for stuff in the 32-36mm size range? I’m female and have small wrists.
I am the director of a department at work. I found out a few months ago that an employee that reports to me gets paid more than I do. How do I bring this up to my manager? I’m looking now to ask for a raise.
After a month of having to constantly ask about my onboarding, I finally was able to join. Now, it's been two weeks and no one seems to know how I get my laptop. With the support number I get an automated response of some mail I should have got which never came. I raise a ticket and they close it saying talk to the manager or onboarding advisor. There is no onboarding advisor and my manager asks me to go back to support. So, did I do something to offend the gods or is this hassle expected?
Solution Architects of USDC - how is your role in a project different from that of a Senior Solution Specialist? I am an SSS. Been with the firm for 7 years at this level. I gathered that an SA gets paid only as much as I do. And does nothing more than I do on my project. I am wondering if there a point in asking for promotion to the next level.
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
How do you ask for a raise?
Negotiating with a pseudo-governmental entity and they are slow and SUPER messy with redlines. For example, they'll get angry if you accept language you proposed when they didn't raise any issue with it previously. Also, when they turn a draft, they'll only address 1/3 of the redlines in the document. Now the document is just a mess of deletions and restorations of the same language because I shouldn't accept things, apparently. I've never seen this before. Anyone have relevant experience?
Planning on taking 2+ months shared parental leave. Can’t wait to have that length of time with my family, but also pushing for promotion at the same time. Any advice on how to play it/communicate it?
I’ve been practicing for 6 years in-house at a media company (was a startup when I joined and is now more established), straight out of law school. Due to the small nature of our team (3 legal members), I have been involved in all areas of our business and even advise c-suite frequently about legal risks. I received a promotion, with another title bump on the horizon this year. I have an opportunity to go to a start-up media company as the sole attorney. Anyone else have experience doing this?
I want to start an NFT community that I have yet to come across - specifically thinking women with careers who are also into crypto and appreciate design / art drawing inspiration from Ashley Longshore and similar artists. Ideally to at least in part raise funds to support abortion rights, women’s education rights, or the like. Anyone here that would want to collaborate?
RSM 11/1 raises post your comp below 1. City/region 2. Level 3. Performance indicator 4. Raise at 8/1? If so how much? 5. Raise at 11/1? If so how much?
I'm 21 but I graduated college really early and I'm a analyst on track for promotion next year. Most guys my age are still in school and the ones older than me are hesitant because I look really young and I'm 6-7 years younger than most of them . Has anyone navigated dating in a similar situation
What segment do you work in? Seems like the typical sales promotion/career path is going from SMB > Mid Market > Enterprise. Is it the same for sales engineers? Are there any benefits to staying downmarket?
I am looking forward to HR round for Macquarie Gurugram. All rounds went well except for numerical reasoning section in psychometric test. My yoe is exactly 8 years. My current CTC is 16.2 and expecting raise in current company in 2-3 months. Q1- What is the maximum I can demand in Macquarie in HR round? Initially, before interviews started, I mentioned 27LPA (negotiable). I have a past offer (not current) of 25.5 LPA. Q2 do they decline offering in case we get adamant abt high salary 27Lpa?
Anyone jump from TC1 or TC2 to another firm for a pay bump and/or promotion? If so how much?
Anyone know of any part time work from home opportunities? I have experience in the past as an SDR for an insurance firm.
Question for the finance peeps... and please without shaming me and others. I have a mortgage, car payment, and all the other bills of life. I’m employed and have scaled back, but...
Hi CGians, Anyone received any heads-up for the back to office? In the invent townhall the HR told that gradually back to office is going to be done, many employees are told to join after 2 November. Any such head-up from any BU?
Just got a lateral to a T2 firm, what is the process like for moving over to MBB? How long do you usually stay before going ahead and looking for referrals/interviews?
As an immigrant, I’m grateful for the opportunities afforded to me since moving to the USA. But, I must say, it still doesn’t feel like home after a decade. I still cannot wrap my mind around the gun culture, lack of universal healthcare and emphasis on education (critical thinking). I’m planning to leave in the coming year or so. COVID really made me realize that life is indeed short.
When you're stupidly in like with someone who doesnt feel the same, try meeting new people to get over it but no one new compares 😔
A partner whom I’m close with is leaving the firm. Ideas on a farewell gift? I was thinking some great scotch and/or wine. Thanks for the help!

Hey Fishes, within how many days after joining are we supposed to take CE exam? Can we re-take immediately if we don't acquire the required competency? Thank you.
Intense psychiatric issues affect me at work. All documented medically but not shared with team. Tips on how to recover and proceed? Performance has been v negatively affected and getting rolled off

Not a meme but…
RIP Jeff Immelt. Not sad to see this guy go.
People who have A to B conversations in big group zoom calls: do you notice the 20 other people blankly staring at you as you go on and on?
This is kind of a personal post but I recently had an encounter with someone who told me I had a "typical lawyer personality" aka found me boring or difficult to talk to, I guess. This was someone totally outside of my social circle. Do you think this is true of lawyers? We do have a very different life than most people, but I'm wondering if it's something I should work on.
