How do you respond to an email where someone introduces you to another attorney for mentoring purposes? I'd like to reply back thanking the person making the introduction and asking the new attorney if they have availability to tell me more about x, y,z, but she hasn't actually agreed to even talk to me yet, so it feels overly forward. Am I overthinking this?

I reply all putting the person who made the introduction in BCC and noting that in the email. I thank the person who made the introduction and then introduce myself and say it’s a pleasure to meet you to the other.

I don’t know the context for this email, but most folks who send the message check with the mentor in advance. Or they are close and know the person will always agree (this is the case for me and my close friends).

Agreed. I think it’s fair for the person in your position to think that the person making the introduction cleared it with the mentor beforehand. If not that’s in the person making the intro, not you. I would just write the email and make sure it doesn’t come off as presuming too much in the off chance it wasn’t pre cleared.

I agree with the above, except I think cc’ing the person who introduced you to them is also fine. I find that if I do nothing, there is a good chance the person never responds. At least if I take the initiative it looks like I tried (even if I could care less - eg in a mentoring scenario).

I'll sometimes reply all (so intro'ing person is in cc) thanking the person who made the introduction and then note that I'll reach out separately to coordinate their availability. I think that avoids extra email traffic for the person who made the introduction but keeps visibility on the same level all around. Otherwise, I'd do the bcc.

Hi all,

KPMG India

I am on bench for more than a month in KPMG India but still manager contacts me on regular basis.

Today, manager sent me a meeting invite with subject as "OLAM Demo Trial".
The other invites are 2 partners and the ones who took my interview.

Can anyone suggest me, what is this OLAM Demo Trial?

Thanks✨

San Francisco CD's - Anyone looking for a mid level AD or Sr. Designer?

Just a rant: A friend of mine told me she attended an awesome leadership conference with entrepreneurs in their 20s. It ended up being Amway and now she is trying to recruit me but it’s being phrased as a “selective” interview process for mentorship. I told her amway is a pyramid scheme/scam and she gave me some spiel about how it’s not. One of the soundbites is how many of the people in this are well paid consultants, doctors etc but are choosing making money this way lmao
