How do you stay interested in your role for 4+ years? I'm only a senior associate but I find myself getting bored of my role quite frequently

It used to be that I had those mood swings (enjoyment to depression to enjoyment) every few months, now I have them within a day. I think at this point working in consulting is a manifestation of the Stockholm syndrome

I thought I was depressed at D over the last year. Turns out I was just working with a$$holes and doing incredibly uninteresting work. Leaving in two weeks ✌🏻

Sorry lil bro

I do a mostly full-time primary client engagement, then moonlight as a very part-time SME for two international engagements in a different area. Keeps things much more interesting. All remote, all different time zones, so makes it easier to juggle. Also, makes for a very interesting, broad reach impact story at year-end.

Lots of talk about CohnReznick on here lately… let’s address a few points.

1) Yes, our salaries are in line with B4. Happy to discuss specifics with the skeptics.
2) We are one of the few firms still actively hiring people without FDD experience.
3) Our WLB is miles better than B4.
4) Yes, we are paying strong referral bonuses because our practice has literally doubled in the past year.
5) All of the above is due to a strong pipeline and significant growth within the practice.

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law

Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB
