Does anyone have experience with Ben Glass’s “Great Legal Marketing” programs? https://greatlegalmarketing.com
I ordered a free “starter kit” from his company and received a decent-sized box with some books and audio CD’s. Haven’t listened to the CD’s yet, but the books aren’t bad, with plenty of practical advice.
Now he’s running a promotion where you can get two months of his basic-level course for just $19.95 to cover the cost of shipping. It seems that Ben is one of the better-regarded legal marketing “gurus” out there.

Oof. If I may. Two possibilities: 1 they are lying to you; 2 you work at a company that is financially fucked. Either option is bad and means it's probably time to get out.
Unless it's a start up you believe in, never do a company any favors. Corporations don't appreciate your charity.
Look to see if another company has budget for your promotion. Then once you find one ask your current place and you'll find that they can make room if they want to.
The work, the work, the work. If that sucks, no promotion will motivate you.
There’s more than one way to get what you want. Have them promote you now and give you timing on when they can increase your salary. Maybe even stair step it until they can give you everything.
You have to take it into your own hands. You have to go where the money is. And it's not there
It’s hard, but when I run into that kind of brick wall I try to remind myself that if I put a lot of effort and care into my work, when the next raise cycle or promo opportunity comes up (even if I don’t know when that will be) I’ll already deserve it.
I got a promotion and no raise. So I’m with ya
Think about doing great work that will look good when you’re looking for your next job.
