Am a direct admit partner, it’s a complete self-taught exercise on how to navigate the firm and get screwed by other partners at the same time. Makes me want to quit
That makes me sad. If you want to chat and see if there’s any way I can help, PM me.

When you figure it out let me know. It’s the biggest disappointment of the promo to MD for me
Agreed 100%
This is where the leadership of your practice and firm matters most: do they encourage (and demand) partnership thinking, which says the person most able to win the business and make the client successful should take the lead with the full support of (and recognition for) those who may play a secondary role? Or do they treat you instead as franchise owners who must worry about distance from and competition with each other? One is a partnership, the other... the jungle.
This hits close to home for me. My last company was, well, the jungle.
“Think like an owner” is what is said—its rather “every man for himself!” after the Khumbaya webcast ends...
Well
And I have a a PRP who fundamentally doesn’t engage, not an advocate for me to help break through some of the barriers put up by a protectionist attitude from other partners. I’m a month in and ready to quit
Ugh...my first prp had me ready to quit. Don't let them get you down...it's really a pretty good place
This has become tough at PwC where the focus on metrics is all consuming. Sharing revenue and bookings is arbitrary and based on who you know and how you play the game. Leaders say one thing in public but recognize the reality when you catch them in the corridor. It's painful if you're thinking you're still part of a partnership.
Appreciate the solidarity in frustration. Any positive suggestions on how to change or navigate this aside from escalation? What do you tell the people aspiring to be in your shoes?
My pleasure - and good luck!
