How do you take PTO? Does anyone actually allow for people to take PTO? Or is it expectation that you hop on calls occasionally during it?

When is it worth it to take a pay cut? Received an offer from a startup today, the salary they are offering me is 30% below my current salary - offered them my range during the interview but they stuck to their initial salary when they sent me the offer. No 401k, no WFH, but they have unlimited PTO. They are also offering me 10k shares of common stock (25% vested 1 year after the date vesting begins and the remaining on a monthly basis over the next 3 years). How does this translate to $ amount?

Thoughts on Laco? Looking for a basic aviator with a decent moment (Sellita in this case) and enough water resistance to wear at the pool, on vacation, etc. Haven't seen many posts on Laco here and search didn't turn up much. They seem to fit the bill but I've never seen one in person.

Hello! I’m only about 4 weeks pregnant, so super early. I am about to go on vacation and thankfully did a quick search on some “dos and donts” for the first trimester. I am v disappointed to see I shouldn’t do saunas and hot tubs as my vacation was really planned to be all relaxation. But it got me thinking, could you all share the most surprising pregnancy do or don’t you’ve encountered? I feel like I just need a master list cause there seem to be so many limitations 😭

My boyfriend is always on his phone when I approach him to talk about something enthusiastically like may be an incident at work or the vacation details I have planned for us. It’s not like he doesn’t listen to me, but instead of having an eye contact, he is always scrolling through Twitter or some app on his phone. It hurts me and makes me feel unloved/angry. FDD Or M&A Tax is better?

Is 1 year of audit and 7 months of TAS enough experience to move into a bigger firm as a senior. I’m Currently an associate at a small regional.

What do you think makes more sense:
a) Stay in audit and get M1 promo this year, and then later try to transfer to FDD at manager level.
b) Move to FDD right now as S3, settle in at more relaxed pace but only hit M1 promo in 2 years.
