I think it depends on the why. Are you looking for a raise/counter offer? Putting in your two weeks? What are you trying to get from this offer and from letting your boss know?
I was just in a very similar situation tell your boss about the offer the switch up in attitude after will tell you whether or not this is somewhere you want to stay
Then the other offer is for another account role then?
Do you see a path to strategy where you are? If so, the offer is worth mentioning if your manager can help you make the switch. If nothing else, it’s a bargaining chip… BUT you only get to play it once. As a backup, put feelers out on Strategy roles externally. You’ll know what’s best.
Regardless, making a switch now only slows down your trajectory towards Strategy, period.
