How do you think mortgage rates will react this week to the fed rate increase Tuesday? Expecting 75 point raise, but is that already baked into the current rates?

This weeks CPI (inflation) number will have the biggest influence on rates, for better or worse. Next weeks fed meeting, and the potential 75 basis points increase, is already baked in.

I’m hoping to steer clear of any scams by posting & I know it’s been posted before but, again, scams. Anyway, I am looking for something that can be done remotely on nights and weekends after I get home from my daily in-office job. My sister passed away & I’m now helping raise her kids. With Christmas coming, I’m nervous and dreading the season not only to not have her but will I make it a happy one for the kids. I need extra income but need to be home with them in the evenings.

I’m regularly told that they’re exceeding expectations but then they get reviews that say they’re meeting expectations on a team full of people that do way less than they do? I’ve actually been told that if there was something between meets and exceeds…I’d get that…but there not, so I get the same average performer raise, recognition, etc.

Is this normal? And is THIS what is triggering the quiet quitting movement? Let me know.

Hi all, my current title is Motion Graphics Designer. I just finished my probation (6 months which is very uncommon). I proactively asked my manager for a review because I negotiated to have "title review" included in my contract when I got hired as they didn't want to offer Senior Motion Designer. The department head (my manager's boss) is happy with the work I delivered. How should I prepare for this title review and pay raise negotiation? Currently getting paid 88k. I am expecting 95-100k

I was told that I was the chosen candidate for a new role that I applied for which will be promotion, I just recently received my offer and was surprised and decided to start negotiating. My boss immediately said that this is offer, either take it or lose it and no negotiating, and was only given a day to decide whether I want it or not, so he repost the position, and was also told that I was going about it the wrong way for trying to negotiate, Is this wrong of me to negotiate?

Almost 3 years into a position as a “technical engineer” that does both project management work and design work. During my career planning discussions I’ve been asked whether I want to go down the manager side of engineering or the technical/design side. Wondering what advice you have for making this decision. My understanding is that usually the management route offers more room for promotion and a higher pay ceiling, however I became an engineer for the technical stuff. Thoughts?

Tips welcome on how to manage my “informal review” with my manager who has it out for me, re: not promoting me following a technical exam (on which I scored perfectly) and interview (on which I was failed ostensibly on subjective criteria). The promotion is a level and pay change, while tasks remain the same. I asked for this meeting. They brought in two external people this week who are the new level and pay above me, but I am training them—for my own job.

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

I like the complexity of the work I do, but I don't want to kill myself to make a living. Plus, my current salary is below market, so a move would come with a significant raise.

Now, my responsibilities have increased tremendously, and I should ask for a raise. How do I ask and for how much?
