I don’t. My goals are usually something like “learn more about X area; take on more of Y kind of work; get on projects with visibility to higher ups”. And then I just… do it.

That’s what I do right now, too. Not sure if there are any good ways to track progress that others in-house have used.

It’s my first year in house so take my advice with a grain of salt. I’m a product counsel so I’m going to set some big project goals for each of the business groups I support. (E.g. develop legal playbook for X team; standardize contract templates for X team; provide X numbers of training on X topics, etc.), things that aren’t urgent, but would be nice to accomplish over the year.

I really like my current role (Consultant), the work I do, the people I work with, and the company I work for. I’m currently 1.5 YOE so still really early in my career. Nothing against my current company but I would love to make the move Deloitte PwC Strategy& at some point but I can’t decide when. What’s your advice on when to decide to switch jobs?
