I have the kids do a quick question and then put it in a folder depending on their confidence in the answer

It is a reflection piece to find out what the students learned, found difficult, or enjoyed that day.

I do it as a quick assessment to see what gaps or misunderstandings they might have. I always tell them that just write “I don’t get this” or “I’m confused by this” if they don’t know, reminding that an exit ticket isn’t a grade. I’d rather know upfront that they don’t understand since that’s the purpose of these assessments. Also, I don’t always do it at the end, or as an “exit”. I need another name for exit ticket 😁

I like that 😁

I will use google classroom questions and allow responding to each other. Teach response etiquette first. I also always preview the replies.

I have experience doing basic data analysis but not at the level of a data scientist. What would you recommend I do to gain these data scientist skills? Ok…I’m curious. I pretty much have to beg, barter and steal to get supplies for my classroom. Do teachers in states with legal cannabis have this problem? It’s my understanding that sales tax from its purchase goes to schools, or is that all smoke and mirrors…No pun intended. 😉

Sometimes I wonder if the anxiety and anticipation leading up to the school year is/will be worse than when we're actually in the classroom, doing our thing, day in and day out. I hope so!

Random thought. Many teachers live and die by their whiteboards, and that means dry erase markers are essential classroom supplies. Far more expensive than the chalk I started with, but I digress. I feel like the only person on the planet who prefers bullet-tip markers to the standard chisel tip. I am particularly fond of the Pilot refillables, despite their limited colors. Anyone else care to share their marker thoughts on markers and the merits of chisel tips vs bullet?

Automatic red flag to have an engagement kickoff just before the holidays, receive emails at all hours of the day (to include weekends/holidays), be told there’s a lot to do but “it’ll be a great opportunity”, and then be told leadership wants people to prioritize work life balance? I’m an AV Systems engineer for an AV Design Firm in the DMV area. I’ve been in this specific role for 2.5 years and have worked in the AV industry since 2017. I have an end of year review coming up and want to ask for a raise and I’m curious what other people in similar roles are making. For reference, I both engineer AV systems for corporations and the government, as well as project manage existing projects.

When I became old enough to make enough money to buy nice holiday gifts, my mom started asking me for money so she can buy what she wants. It’s always an appropriate amount, but she knows I don’t like when she does this because I don’t think there’s anything genuine about this. For the past couple years, I’ve just allowed this to happen. Well today after dinner, she asks me to hurry up and come over to her computer. And she asks me if it’s okay if I pay for some athletic wear…
