Don’t keep anyone in the dark. In fact, do the opposite. Get all the decision makers in a room together so that they can hash things out among themselves m.

Understand who you ultimately report to and make sure you have high touch communications with them. Otherwise, try to force them all in a room as soon as possible + a whole lot of CYA

Been asked to expand my practice into a new industry. New for me, my team, and the firm. As far as I can tell we have no relationships with any of the target accounts... however our offering addresses a critical CxO/BoD issue at these companies.

Any creative ideas for how to break down doors for a small, niche firm? We do incredibly well once we get a meeting but because we compete with MBB, it’s hard to get the initial meeting since few CxOs know us outside the industries we currently serve.

Serious question. As equity, does it concern you employing individuals that live paycheck to paycheck? People that would do anything to keep their job first and foremost where improving returns to equity is a very distant priority. I’d view it as a liability, but can’t really ask people to divulge his or her financial status.


Genuine qs to partners here. Between B4/ACN, is there any firm in particular where making consulting partner/principal could be easier? I know the cliche answer is NO but looking for opinions/experiences that may say otherwise.
