In May, I learned that I would not be getting renewed due to COVID. I spent all summer worried about the future and what would happen if my diabetic husband got sick. I ended up getting a job out of state with a district and a governor that takes things seriously while my old zip code is a major NYC Covid Hotspot that the governor put under major restriction. I’m so glad I am where I am now.

My Shareholder came into my office yesterday and proceeded to tell me that "we" were getting sloppy & "we" needed to get our billable up and that she had missed things. She made a point to say hers were low & she never gave me info regarding billable time. Our biggest client cuts half our time.

Had a phone screen today with Amazon. I prepped & prepared for days. I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Does anyone have any resources on leadership soft skills (ie - managing change, conflict mgmt, and giving feedback)? I’m trying to search for a facilitator’s workshop kit that is already built out and a facilitator can pick up and start teaching the course with the facilitator’s guide, presentation, and activities. Also, I would hope we can use the material and rebrand into our organization’s leadership development program.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?
