How doable do you think the pivot from accounting/finance to supply chain would be?

I think it's possible, although I'm not entirely sure what supply chain work actually is and how much accounting skills would translate.

I'm in FP&A now and work closely with various departments, including supply chain. One person I know is exclusively in a "supply chain FP&A" role, supporting supply chain through financial models and other analysis. So transferring internally from that role seems possible.

Otherwise, probably going to take a lot of networking and upskilling on your part.

One option is to go via IA (I know Pepsi send people to supply chain from IA after 2 years)

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?

I’m 3 years out of undergrad with 2 years of public accounting (audit) and 1 year of analytics consulting. I’m a CPA. What are some laid back corporate roles that I can transition into but still take advantage of some of the experience I have. Very sick of client facing roles with super competitive and micromanaging management

Over the last few months my job work load has increased to helping more teams and I have been brought on to be a major voice on a product transition (I am one of three non managers helping make the decision and have more responsibility on the project then half the managers. The company is global (30+ teams)) and I can see that it will increase over the next months. The company I work for is known for not promoting internally easy. Anyone have any advice on how to make the transition easier?

What are your long-term career goals with recruiting? Do you think you'll stay in tech? Or exit to something else?

Seeking perspectives on career path. TIA!

9 YOE (6.5 in consulting, 2.5 in BU strategy and M&A). Involved in end-to-end process (incl. modeling) but processes largely led by Corporate M&A team. 3 tuck-ins completed (all in 2022).

Options considering:
1/ Continue current path, stack more deal experience, strong chance of Director promo in 3-6 months
2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)
