Tech and healthcare are known for paying recruiters the most. Salesforce, Meta, Google, and UnitedHealth Group are known for paying recruiters the highest based on average salary.

Do you know how their pay structure is though? Like do they make any type of commission when they find the “new hire”?

The compensation structure for recruiters can vary across different industries. Here are some general factors that can influence a recruiter's compensation:

1. Industry: Different industries may have varying demand for talent and competition for qualified candidates. Industries such as technology, finance, and healthcare often offer higher compensation due to the demand for specialized skills and the competitive nature of talent acquisition.

2. Company size: The size of the company can impact recruiter compensation. Large organizations typically have bigger budgets and resources allocated to their talent acquisition efforts, potentially resulting in higher compensation for recruiters compared to smaller companies.

3. Geographic location: The cost of living and market demand for talent in a specific geographic location can affect recruiter compensation. Cities with a high cost of living or tight job markets may offer higher salaries to attract and retain skilled recruiters.

4. Experience and skills: Recruiters with more experience, specialized skills, and a successful track record of placing high-quality candidates often command higher compensation. These skills may include sourcing passive candidates, using advanced recruitment techniques, negotiating offers, and building strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.

5. Performance-based incentives: Some companies offer performance-based incentives to recruiters to motivate them to meet specific targets, such as filling a certain number of positions within a given time frame or achieving quality hiring metrics. These incentives can include bonuses or commission structures based on the recruiter's success in meeting their goals.

6. Recruitment agency or internal recruiters: Recruiters working for recruitment agencies or staffing firms may have different compensation structures compared to those working as internal recruiters. External recruiters may earn a commission or percentage of the placement fee, while internal recruiters might have a fixed salary with potential performance-based bonuses.

It's important to note that these factors are general guidelines, and compensation can vary widely within each industry. It's recommended to research industry-specific data and conduct salary benchmarking to determine the typical compensation range for recruiters in a particular industry or geographic location...............

I’m asking out of genuine curiosity - why do law firms promote people who have 0 leadership and management skills to partner? I know people who have been promoted to partner who have for a fact been given poor reviews bc they are egregious managers — some are not even respected by juniors because they also don’t have much substantive knowledge. Is it just politics?
